Field visit to ancient inscription sites of Chennai

Chennai: Chennai 2000 Plus Trust invites participants to a field visit to view the 1,000 year-old inscriptions of Velachery, Tirusoolam and Adambakkam on March 17 morning, and Kundrathur, Mangadu and Koyambedu post-afternoon on March 17. The visit will be conducted by Dr M Chandramoorthy, former Deputy Director, State Archaeology department.

The inscriptions will show that ancient Chennai was called Puliyur Kottam.
The visit will begin from 7 a.m. on Sunday, March 7 and will conclude at 6 p.m. AC tempo and lunch will be provided. Participants are requested to contribute registration fee of Rs 1,500 per head.
